DWP confirms almost 60 health conditions that could qualify for extra £370 a month

With the cost of living crisis on the up, pensioners, as well as those who are on low incomes, are being urged to see if they qualify for any extra help.

Across the UK, underclaimed benefits are currently a big issue with an estimated 3.4 million Brits missing out on Attendance Allowance they could be entitled to. The Express reports that these people could be missing out on an extra £370 a month.

It is said that some people are put off claiming because there is still a big stigma around claiming, while others are put off because of the paperwork associated with it. Additional financial support is available from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) for certain health conditions.

According to Age UK, pensioners are the most likely group of Brits to be missing out on state benefits from the DWP. Anyone who is at state pension age and needs help around the house could be entitled to Attendance Allowance.

You don't need to have a full time carer to qualify either. Successful claimants must have needed help for at least six months unless they are terminally ill.

Up to 56 health conditions mean Britons automatically qualify for Attendance Allowance including arthritis and back pain.

The DWP says 56 health conditions qualify for Attendance Allowance:
